Increasingly complex global challenges including climate variability and supply chain disruptions require practical, innovative and integrated solutions in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism stressed this matter while chairing the 38th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organisation FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific APRC. It took place at The Empire Brunei, Jerudong.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, further explained that these efforts are important in building a resilient, inclusive and sustainable agrifood system for the well-being of future generations. The two-day ministerial conference highlighted key topics, including Accelerating Sustainable Bioeconomy Approaches in Asia and the Pacific.

 

The ministerial session at the APRC conference discussed strategies in accelerating the transformation of the agrifood system through innovation and technical cooperation as well as inclusive policies.

 

The conference is expected to foster deeper understanding and strengthen regional integration among Asia-Pacific member countries. The finalised decisions will be a catalyst for the transformation of sustainable agrifood systems.
